Family Retreat---Garmisch

The military gave us a wonderful retreat. They let us stay in Garmisch for two nights with meals included for FREE!! Only requirement was to take six hours of marriage classes the time we were there. It wasn't too bad. We had an afternoon to ski while the military paid for child care! WhooHoo! I haven't been skiing in six years. Wow, where does the time go? Seeing that we only had four hours of skiing time, we decided to stay at the bunny slopes and practice our skills. Billy has only skied once before (6 years ago) and I was his ski instructor. (stop laughing) He is a great learner or I am a great teacher......either way, he is doing great for two half days of skiing in his life! He can turn and has control of his skis. Which is what it is all about. We had a great time. We stayed an extra night seeing that we were already there. The kids love this place too. They call it "the tallest mountain." For all of you non-Dora watchers, that is where they got it from.

Two days after we got back from our vacation, I caught Mallory in her room at naptime dumping every container she had and stuffing her clothes in them. She was "packing for the tallest mountain tomorrow." She even brought all her luggage to the front door. I guess that was her way of telling us she wants to go back!

The kids were so excited about making a snowman......they have been bugging us everytime it snows. Luckily in Garmisch it was perfect "snowman" snow.
