Trick-Or-Treating with Mickey and Jessie

Sorry the first two are out of order, but I didn't realize they were on here until now

Mallory and Brayden were anxious to start Halloween this year. We enjoyed lots of good times with our friends and our FRG.

Carving the pumpkin

Mallory and Brayden drew the face on the pumpkin so we could help them cut it out. I called our pumpkin creation Picasso.
Our FRG (Billy's unit's Family Readiness Group) had a wonderful Fall Fun Fest with a BBQ cookoff. It was a lot of fun!
Some really dirty kids! The bouncy house was filthy and they had dirt (plus food) all over their sweaty faces.
Halloween night, we went with our friends trick-or-treating.
Brayden, Joe Lee, and Mallory (Gabriel was being a little shy, but he was there too)

Mallory and Joe Lee held hands the whole time!
We saw all sorts of characters this year, including the Grinch!

Richard Nixon even handed out some candy!

Our Picasso......

Happy Halloween everyone!

Ludwigsburg Kurbis (Pumpkin) Fest

If you been following us for awhile, this will look very similar to the pictures a year ago. We went back this year to find out they have different themes every year. Last year it was fairytales and had more of a display. This year was Sea life and had half of the display as we saw last year, but still a lot of fun! Billy had to work one Sunday so we went on this excursion with our friends Gabriel and Christy.

Eating yummy roasted sugar coated pumpkin seeds

Happy Halloween!

Apple orchard

I found a article in the newpaper about a apple orchard nearby so we decided it would be a great day trip for us. The kids had so much fun finding the best apples and they had a great variety of apples to choose from.

Our friends Gabriel and Christy went with us.

a taste test

Our basket was pretty full
The best ones were too high.......thank goodness we had little helpers

As we weighed the apples, there were free apple juice to sip on. It was so good we had to buy two bottles to take home (I think that was their intent).
All this for 13 Euros

Herbst Fest in Michealstadt

A charming little town close by had a Herbst Fest (Fall Fest). Was nice little town atmosphere with lots of straw people scattered around town. Each store had their own straw person dressed up by their store. They also had lots of yummy food to buy. We sampled plenty and bought some wonderful dried strawberries.

The sun was so bright, they wouldn't look at me.

Of course, the fest wouldn't be complete without rides!
