This weekend we travelled on the the Strassenbahn (Street train) two towns over from where we live. The kids were so excited to ride the train and go to the festival. We love to see new places. Weinheim was a nice typical German town.
A memorial with many names around on the stone walls around (as you can see behind this statue)
two castles up on the hill from the town center
crest
they had a cool wooden slide made to fit the stone steps.
The creek that ran right through the town. The town built around the creek making bridges and pathways for it
one of the many booths of yummy German cuisine
A festival isn't a festival without rides!
Something painted on a old building. I love all their unique architecture, charm, a character of the buildings in these towns. As you can see, I take pictures of them all! :)
Another picture of the slide
Wine booth in the shape of a wine barrel
Tower in the back was once part of some fortification
This building in the back is one of the many breweries.......it looked like the oldest building in the town
half timbered home with lovely window boxes
We came across this wood carving. I don't know any history on it, but it had as you can see USA on it and Welcome. It was a really interesting piece. I would love to know the story on it. If I find out, I will post more about it.

No, we were going to, but then we found out they were paying for the ride. Mallory and Brayden didn't ask to go so we didn't push it, but we did watch a few kids go down it.
