Last weekend we went on a bus trip to the Black Forrest. This has been a area of Germany we haven't been to yet and have always wanted to go. It was nice having a bus trip because we got to see a woodcraver's workshop at his home, a clock maker's workshop and saw how they pieced together their clocks, we went to a 300 year old working farm where a wonderful family took us in for lunch with black forrest ham and their tasting of schnapps. We finished the trip in Triberg to see the largest waterfall in Germany and tasted Black Forrest Chocolate Cake.

The woodcarver's workshop......very inpressive work!
The workshop had carvings all over......even his house.....if you look closely the arches have carved words in it
At the farm, the kids got to ride ponies. It was their favorite part of the day.
The cookoo clock maker's workshop
He was showing us how the clock mechanism worked
First step to a clock, they have templates (stencils) that they stained on the wood to carve and cut around
Some finished work
