Uncle Kavanaugh, Aunt Susan and Madeline's Visit

My Uncle Kavanaugh, Aunt Susan and cousin Madeline stopped by for a few days on their way to Rome. We had a great weekend visit with them and the kids were excited to have their Daddy home (after a week away) and visitors.

Saturday we spent the day on the Rhine in the town of Rudesheim.
A good ole German pretzel
a lookout of the Rhine river
Brayden pointing out some grapes in the vineyard
We got a little lost trying to do the loop to the next town over.....some nice hikers (with a better map than ours) helped us get back on track.
A lift along the many vineyards on the Rhine........I love this beautiful country more and more. It is gorgeous at this time of year!!
A castle on the other side of the Rhine. We could see it from the lift.

Madeline share her skills on the violin with Mallory. Mallory was so interested, she went to her instruments to play along.
Sunday, we took a trip to Mainz. Our intent was to see the Gutenburg Printing Museum, but little did we know it was a holiday (Whit Sunday) and they closed the museum for the day. So plan B, we went on to Frankfurt to a Botanical Gardens, but before we left Mainz, we did take a quick stroll through the square.

The Botanical Gardens in Frankfurt

At the gardens they had a water park......the kids had a little fun playing in the water and getting their feet wet.

Thanks for a great visit! I hope you guys had fun in Munich and Rome!
