Christmas traditions.....

I know Christmas is over and this post is kind of random, but I have been thinking a lot about it since I have had kids and still trying to start some Christmas traditions for our family for years to come.

I read something after Christmas on one of the blogs I have been following and thought it was a wonderful idea. We already do the three gifts from Santa, like Jesus gets three gifts on his birthday. I was thinking to do this for Mom and Dad gifts:

Something you want

Something you need

Something you wear

Something you read

Thought that was really cleaver!

I am trying to set some kind of guidelines so we don't over do it around Christmas. Just thought I would share.

Our other tradition we do......Santa leaves their stocking in their bed so when they wake up they can see Santa came and they can open the stocking first. In their stockings, they get the traditional (Germans still do this on St Nicholas day)......fruit/nuts/one piece of candy plus a few little toys. When I was growing up the stockings kind of got forgotten. It would be hours after unwrapping presents before we remembered we had the stockings too. I wanted the stockings for my kids to be more exciting, putting them in their beds have been a huge hit the past two years. They would run to our room to show us what they got and not even thinking about the other gifts under the tree yet.
